In wanting to let go, we’re always trying to release ourselves from scars or wounds that hold us back. I believe that a lot of these pains are embodied in our relationships with others, as a manifestation of psychological and spiritual damage. It’s extremely useful to invite others—conceptually—into our self-reflection practice. What I specifically do is invite different people in my life, past or present, who I have complications with, and acknowledge them one at a time. I thank them for intersecting with my journey. In doing so, I acknowledge that person as a conscious being on their own path. It helps me give myself the Looney Tunes Yosemite Sam Angry Portrait Shirt and by the same token and same permission, creating space to release and be.

I enter each new year with an action of joy to honor the Looney Tunes Yosemite Sam Angry Portrait Shirt and by the same token and joy that exists in our journey of life. Right at midnight, I will be the one enacting hugs, jumps, kisses at willing parties (this year it’s a party of one: my partner). It’s a simple way to embody the feeling I wish to carry forward and set the tone for the rest of the year. My mantra for 2021 is release—release of limiting beliefs, release of control, release of tension that no longer serves. I release in order to make space.
